｜The Night I Left Commentary Writing: This Time, I Choose to Be a Storyteller

🟧Before I Set Off, Something I Want to Say to All My Readers
This is something I feel I should tell all my readers
before I leave.
🟦In 2023, I gave up commentary and stopped reading novels.
Only then did I have the time to think—
what exactly is my work?
I wrote a lot, and I was rejected several times.
🟦It wasn’t until March 2026
that I finally saw the story of District 2: Starry Eagle Group
had grown into something that could become a book.
Today is April 30, 2026—
the last day of April.
🟥Tomorrow is May,
and it is also when I officially set off and begin revising.
I will be translating the story of Starry Eagle Group
from Traditional Chinese into English,
and that will take some time.
The next time I appear—if nothing unexpected happens—
it should be after I have successfully self-published my ebook.
When that time comes,
I will return and let everyone know.
🟥An AI once reminded me
that there is a significant gap
between my voice as a commentator
and my voice as a creator.
It suggested that I should inform my readers in advance,
so that no one would be too surprised.
I think that advice is right.
Finally, there is one thing I want to say:
🍀If you want to become a writer,
write what you are able to write.
The kinds of things we read
do not mean we must write the same kinds of things.
Just like I eat pizza,
but I have never thought about learning to make it—
I would simply go and buy one.
